Roy Westran Memorial Insurance Scholarship Golf Outing – August 6th!

On August 6th  Al Bourdeau Insurance Agency will be attending the 17th annual Roy Westran Memorial Insurance Industry Scholarship Golf Outing for the 17th consecutive year. The Roy Westran Memorial Insurance Industry Golf Outing began when Roy Westran decided to hang up his hat, and retire from the insurance industry. With Roy being such an influential leader and pioneer of the industry, when he retired, many agents from Citizens Insurance (now known as Hanover) and Citizens itself decided to create a fund as a final farewell present to Roy. All together, Citizens and its agents pooled up over $100,000 dollars and presented it to Roy as a gift. Roy and wife Dawn decided to give it back to the community in the form of scholarships to students studying to go into the insurance field. The Roy Westran Memorial Insurance Industry Scholarship Golf Outing has given out over $600,000 in scholarships to over 400 students throughout the Great Lakes Region.

Al Bourdeau Insurance Agency strongly supports the Roy Westran Scholarship program. In fact, Al Bourdeau Insurance Agency’s very own President Robert L. Bourdeau and Vice President Robert H. Bourdeau are both members of the Westran Insurance Scholarship Board of Directors.
